Children's Behavioral Services (CBS) is a multidisciplinary pediatric team providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Occupational Therapy (OT) to children in South Central Missouri. Since its opening in 2019 as a one-room operation, CBS has expanded to two state-of-the-art facilities featuring multiple treatment pods, inclusive classroom spaces, and custom sensory gyms. Our locations in Willow Springs and West Plains, Missouri, serve as hubs for innovative care, with plans to introduce Speech-Language Pathology and Physical Therapy in 2024. CBS is dedicated to delivering exceptional support in our clinics, local schools, and the homes of our clients.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Job Responsibilities:
- Assist occupational therapists in the development and implementation of treatment plans based on patient evaluations and goals.
- Provide direct patient care, including exercises, activities, and therapeutic interventions, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Monitor and document patient progress, responding to changes and adjusting treatment techniques in collaboration with the supervising occupational therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic activities, home exercises, and safety precautions to promote continued recovery and maintenance of skills.
- Maintain and organize therapy equipment, ensuring that all materials are clean and accessible.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care discussions, providing input from the COTA perspective.
- Uphold professional standards and adhere to state regulations, policies, and procedures governing occupational therapy practice.
- Engage in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in occupational therapy.
- Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks as required.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Current or pending Missouri Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers, or ability to obtain within 90 days

Work Location: Client sessions may occur in various settings, including the clinic, client’s home, outdoors, schools, and community environments (e.g., stores, day programs). In-home and school-based services will be provided based on client needs and at the discretion of staff and providers
