Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will administer occupational therapy treatment programs or portions thereof as planned and directed by a licensed Occupational Therapist. You will be responsible for correct execution of therapeutic modalities and exercise regimes to patients, and will closely communicate and collaborate with the licensed Occupational Therapist.

• You will maintain accurate and legible records of services provided
• You will provide direction, guidance and training to non-professional personnel in the execution of patient treatments
• You will provide care delivery to include documenting patient progress and completing discharge instructions and education appropriately
• You will determine progression of exercise program including advancing patient’s interventions and activities as appropriate and following through on the plan of care
• You will conduct therapy sessions in a safe and professional manner
• You will conduct patient, family, and caregiver training and education
• You will provide direction to those assisting and learning and a therapy role

What qualifications you will need:

Experience

• Knowledge and experience in occupational therapy interventions

Education

• Associate’s degree or higher for Occupational Therapy Assistant

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Current Texas Occupational Therapy Assistant license
