About the Job
Duties
- Assist in the implementation of occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist
- Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises and activities
- Monitor and document patient progress and report any changes to the supervising therapist
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Familiarity with acute care settings
- Understanding of occupational health principles and practices
- Knowledge of human physiology and its relation to occupational therapy
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Current state license or eligibility for state licensure as a COTA
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
