Job Description
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) assists and works under the clinical direction of the Occupational Therapist (OTR) in treating patients with mental illness by performing interventions to help patients improve adaptive function in “occupational performance categories” which include, but are not limited to, social skills, leisure activities, cognitive abilities, daily living skills and perceptions of self-worth.
The COTA works in collaboration with the other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team. The COTA also has a primary role in inventorying, ordering, and maintaining all occupational therapy and recreational therapy supplies.

Required Qualifications:
- Associates Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Minimum of one year direct clinical experience in a mental health care setting with children and adolescents.
- Current WI COTA licensure and Current American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) certification.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- CPI Training within 90 days of hire.
- Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
