| The Pharmacy Technician Certified Acute Care works under the close supervision of a registered pharmacist and performs activities required to receive, dispense, and deliver non-controlled and controlled medications to provide quality, safe patient care. |
Responsibilities:
| Prepares, distributes, and disposes of medication in compliance with current standards under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Navigates electronic medical records to gather pertinent information to assist with pharmacy activities. Operates pharmacy systems technology and automation to assist with medication preparation. Completes medication regulatory and compliance activities. Communicates effectively with other health care professionals to deliver high-quality customer service. Performs other duties as assigned. |
| EDUCATION: |
| Required: High School Diploma or equivalent |
| EXPERIENCE: |
| Required: 1 year work experience (pharmacy experience preferred but not required) |
| LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: |
| Required: Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire. Registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire. |
