Position summary:
Seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician, to perform a variety of responsibilities such as maintaining quality, accuracy, and integrity of inventory. Ensure the accurate and efficient dispensing of prescription medications. Prepare and package medications, maintaining inventory, and performing administrative tasks.
Job details:
- Pay starts at $19.50 - 21.50 based on experience.
Work Schedule:
- 1st shift - must be available to work from 6 am to 6 pm
- 2nd shift - must be available to work from 3 pm to 3 am
- 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
- Rotating schedule, available from Sunday to Friday
Job duties:
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies as prescribed by physicians.
- Process prescriptions, including counting, bottling, packaging, labeling, and recording medication dosages.
- Receive and process prescriptions, including entering prescription information into computer system and verifying accuracy.
- Perform inventory control, including stocking and re-stocking medications and supplies, removing expired items, and reporting on inventory levels.
- Answer phone calls, manage customer queries and forward complex queries to the pharmacist.
- Process insurance claims and manage payments.
- Comply with all security measures and quality standards of pharmaceutical care.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, including storing and disposing of medications and supplies properly.
- Participate in training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care and pharmacy operations

- Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement.
- Proficiency in managing inventory.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining records and creating reports.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations
Physical requirements:
- Moves, lifts, carries, and places merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Stands for long periods of time.
- Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Valid National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB or NHA (Required)
- Texas Board of Pharmacy License (Required)
