Duties:
- Verify patient identity by confirming two (2) patient identifiers (name, date of birth, and/or social security number) before collecting specimens.
- Perform venipuncture following published laboratory procedures.
- Collect adequate and properly labeled specimens.
- Perform waived and/or non-waived testing.
- Process specimens for testing and/or shipment to another laboratory.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Must hold and maintain a current certificate by the State of California as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience performing venipunctures in a clinic or hospital setting.
- Health Tests: Current within one (1) year tuberculosis testing, rubella testing, and immunizations.
