• The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
• Performs scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensures that the case has the necessary sterile supplies and equipment for that surgeon and procedure.
• Assists with Circulating duties under direct supervision of the RN circulator assigned to the patient.
• Ensure adherence to Hospital, State and departmental policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT – Certification.
• Annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a surgical technologist in the State of NJ.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred Job Requirements:

• High School or GED equivalent
• Graduate of Surgical Technologist Program preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
