Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist
Location: Lakeway, TX
Shift: 12 HR Days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Shifts per Week: 3 (36 Scheduled Hours)
Hourly Pay Range: $24.55 - $35.54
Job Overview:
You will play a crucial role in the surgical team, ensuring that all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, organized, and prepared for each procedure. You will anticipate the needs of the surgical team, maintain a sterile environment, and follow strict infection control protocols. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring everything is sterile and in proper working condition.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure proper patient positioning and draping, and assist with instrument passing during procedures.
- Perform surgical counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments according to policy, ensuring no items are retained in the patient.
- Clean and decontaminate surgical instruments and prepare them for transport to the sterilization area.
- Follow all infection control, OSHA, and AORN guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for patients and staff.
- Assist in the setup of operating rooms and ensure proper functioning of surgical equipment.
- Maintain inventory of sterilized equipment and ensure proper documentation for regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT OR formal training in surgical technology from military/public health service OR employed as a surgical technologist before September 1, 2009.
- Knowledge of sterile technique, human anatomy, and surgical procedures.
