Chief Financial Officer (CFO) San Diego Metro Area, $185-$210k
Overview: In this remote role, as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health and strategic direction of the organization. You will be responsible for managing all financial activities, including cash flow management, budgeting, financial reporting, and leading the accounting department. Your insights and expertise will guide key decision-making processes, ensuring the organization's financial stability and growth.
Key Responsibilities:

Cash Flow Management:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize cash flow, ensuring liquidity and financial stability.
- Monitor cash flow projections and analyze variances to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Establish effective cash management policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks.

Budget Management:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop accurate and realistic budgets.
- Monitor budget performance and analyze variances, providing recommendations for corrective actions as needed.
- Continuously review and refine budgeting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Creation of Metrics, Dashboards, and KPIs:
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to financial and operational objectives.
- Develop comprehensive dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track KPIs and provide actionable insights to the COO and CFO.
- Utilize data analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Present financial results and analysis to our senior executive team
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.

Management of Accounting Department:
- Provide leadership and direction to a small, remote located, accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Mentor and develop team members, supporting their professional growth and career advancement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance executive, preferably in a similar industry (rental, construction, distribution).
- Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with the aptitude to engage and influence team members at all levels.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
