About the Job
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the long-term vision and strategy for the team.
- Ensure alignment with MLS guidelines and objectives.
Financial Oversight:
- Manage the financial health of the team, including budgeting, investments, and revenue generation.
- Oversee sponsorship deals, merchandising, and other revenue streams.
Operational Management:
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the team, including player acquisitions, coaching staff, and support personnel.
- Ensure the team's facilities, including the stadium, training grounds, and offices, are maintained and upgraded as needed.
Community Engagement:
- Act as the public face of the team, engaging with fans, media, and the local community.
- Promote community outreach programs and partnerships to enhance the team's presence and impact in Cleveland.
Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure the team adheres to all MLS regulations and standards.
- Work with legal and compliance teams to navigate any issues that arise.
Marketing and Brand Development:
- Oversee marketing strategies to build the team's brand locally and nationally.
- Engage with media and public relations efforts to promote the team.
Stakeholder Relations:
- Maintain strong relationships with MLS officials, other team owners, and key stakeholders.
- Represent the team in league meetings and other official functions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in business management, preferably in sports or entertainment.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing large budgets.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Passion for soccer and a commitment to growing the sport in Cleveland.
