Overview
The Office of Religious Life is actively seeking a temporary Chapel Event Manager to enact the Emergency Operations Plan for various Chapel services and special events during the year. This role would entail an estimated commitment of 30 hours per year to provide additional chapel service support in accordance with a recent state law mandating places of worship with a seating capacity above a certain threshold to maintain an operational Emergency Plan.
Responsibilities
The duties of the Chapel Event Manager at these events will include:
- Implementation, understanding, and distribution of parts of the Emergency Operations Plan.
- Completion of the Crowd Control Manager Training administered by the Princeton University Fire Marshal.
- Coordination before the start of the event with the producer (if it’s an external user) or ORL staff member in charge.
- Completion of the Pre-Event Briefing Checklist.
- Making an announcement at the beginning of the event about the location of exits.
- Ensuring that the panic button has been given to the service/event leader.
- In the event of an emergency, alerting the Chapel staff and giving directions, showing people to exits or locking doors as appropriate.
- Establishing a communication plan with Chapel/event staff.
- Be present in the Chapel while the event is occurring and stay until the event has ended.
- The Chapel events that the Manager will oversee include approximately 8 concerts or commencement ceremonies plus religious services on Christmas Eve and Easter morning.
Qualifications
- Completion of the Crowd Control Manager Training administered by the Princeton University Fire Marshal.
