DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Coder/Charge Entry professional to join our healthcare team. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding, as well as excellent organizational skills to manage various administrative tasks efficiently.
Job title: Coding / Charge Entry
Department: Revenue Cycle Management
Reports to: Carole Tidwell, RCM Manager
SUMMARY:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Posting daily office charges and surgeries into the computer system, after making sure that the codes that are used are correct to ensure maximum reimbursement.· Appeal surgeries that are denied by payer. Keep Manager aware of problems with Surgical and/or Progress notes. Keep up to date on coding changes with Payers and HIPPA laws including assisting with the companies Compliance Program. ·Any other assignments from the manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS: Coding in a medical office, heavy charge and data-entry experience, as well as heavy ICD-10 and CPT codes/book. Certification required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must have experience as explained above in the qualification category. 2 years of experience required. Previous Orthopaedic experience preferred.
