JOB SUMMARY
Provides quality care that is dependent on physician order or through independent nursing interventions based on professional judgement and that meets facility requirements and local, state and federal regulations. The RN promotes restorative health and/or supportive care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care. Provides oversight, coordination, supervision and management of the Licensed Practical Nurse and Nursing Assistant.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current RN license by the Mississippi Board of Nursing.
Must be able to read, write, and understand written and verbal communication.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.
Ability to lift and carry in excess of 50 pounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / ASSIGNED TASKS
• Coordinate care by scheduling, consulting, and organizing resident activities
• Perform admission and ongoing resident assessment and respond to findings appropriately
• Promote resident engagement by considering specific needs, values and preferences
• Provide staff education, consultation, and oversight based on facility policy, planned or identified needs, and regulatory guidance
• Accurately and completely document assessments and nursing care in the medical record
• Promote continuity of care by reporting activities, incidences, and changing resident needs or condition to the next caregiver
• Demonstrate infection prevention behaviors, consistent hand hygiene, and use of appropriate PPE
• Adhere to safe medication administration while preparing, administering, documenting and monitoring medications
• Recognize safety risk and implement prevention plan for falls, skin breakdown and injury`
• Conduct rounds throughout the shift to direct the Nurse and Nurse Assistant in the delivery of direct resident care
• Communicate with residents, family members, and other disciplines or healthcare professionals as appropriate regarding the progress and status of the resident
• Monitor the Nurse and Nurse Assistant documentation and provide feedback for correction
• Demonstrate competence in performance of clinical skills
• Perform other job duties and tasks as assigned
