This position is responsible for the planning, implementation, management, and oversight of all financial activities, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and negotiations
The role involves directing financial operations to ensure optimal accountability and return on investments, while maintaining a broad strategic perspective
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) manages the organization’s financial affairs, including procurement, investments, and prepares financial analyses and statements for review by the Board of Directors and Executive Management
All responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organization The CFO serves as a public relations ambassador for the Enterprise and is expected to maintain courteous and professional interactions with customers
Other related duties may be assigned by management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Execute the financial strategy
Establish credibility within the organization and with the Board as a solution-oriented leader.
Delegate authority for the management of funds, including receipt, disbursement, and banking.
Analyze financial progress and records to forecast future financial positions and budget needs.
Apply accounting principles to evaluate past and present financial operations and estimate future revenues and expenditures.
Coordinate the budgetary process across the Enterprises, conferring with managerial staff to review activity, sales, and operating reports.
Establish, modify, and oversee accounting control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Direct the efforts of the Controller and team to execute directives.
Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for review by Executive Management
Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring that auditors' recommendations are implemented.
Prepare tax returns and reports for regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Monitor and recommend adjustments to company investments and lines of credit.
Submit monthly and year-end financial reports to the Board, providing explanations as needed.
Study long-term economic trends and project company prospects for future growth and expansion.
Represent the Enterprises’ interests before regulatory entities when necessary.
Provide regular reports and updates to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Board, discussing operational, financial, and policy issues.
Ensure transparency in the company’s financial performance and present statistical and analytical reports.
Participate in special projects as requested by the CEO.
Foster communication and information flow across departments.
Assist in analyzing potential business proposals and investment opportunities.
Act as a liaison with stakeholders, government entities, and the general public.
Serve as a member of the Executive Management Team and attend weekly meetings.
May assume the role of CEO or represent the Enterprises in meetings
Manage departmental staff, including hiring, training, and development.
Serve as "Manager on Duty" (MOD) when required, verifying and authorizing transactions and protecting assets.
Uphold company policies, maintain professionalism, and ensure excellent customer service at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum seven years of management experience in accounting/finance.
At least two years of experience in Indian Gaming management preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management, Accounting/Finance, or a related field required.
Master’s degree in Business Management, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:
Ability to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Office applications and various database programs.
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles, public safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
Ability to work with diverse teams and effectively manage confidential information.
