Overview:
General Description of Work Performed:
Process Design and Optimization:
- Develop and refine Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Perform material and energy balance calculations; size and specify process equipment and systems.
- Design and plan layouts for chemical plant equipment and processes to improve operational efficiency.
Project Management:
- Act as project manager for process and equipment-related projects, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and plant departments to manage project execution.
- Assist in new product development and coordinate research projects when assigned.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Develop, write, and implement engineering specifications, procedures, work instructions, and training manuals.
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records of process parameters and project progress.
Understand and follow plant safety rules and environmental programs of the Company
Adhere to the AMPAC Quality, Safety, & Environmental (QSE) Manual
Understand and comply with Company Policies / Procedures
Qualifications:Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- 5 years of progressive experience in chemical production, research, or process engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in project management is preferred.
