Responsibilities
The Production Engineer ensures production of high quality product at the appropriate rate in a safe running condition. They must have a balance of technical skills and soft skills to continuously learn the process and to be able to develop the knowledge of other members within the team. They will need to be an effective problem solver as problems will vary from day-to-day reactive troubleshooting to long term continuous improvement projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Actively coaches, mentors, and/or provides guidance to the Team Captains and Process Experts on technical topics.
Identifies, mitigates, or creates contingency plans for emerging operational issues.
Assesses major losses and develops/implements sustainable improvement plans.
Able to create/update/implement strategy to sustainably improve reliability of process.
Fully owns the operation and long term monitoring of multiple reactor systems and site services.
Troubleshoots equipment and process issues.
Supports and leads process and quality related incident investigations and RCAs. Creates detailed corrective action plans.
Implements new processes and/or equipment to enhance production performance.
Able to review, update, and/or develop new SOPs/processes and ensure consistency within the unit.
Effectively interacts with corporate technology groups and local process/chemistry experts to support information exchange and trials.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering discipline
- Chemical Engineering a plus
- Minimum 0-6 years of manufacturing experience
- The following experience is a plus:
- Chemical manufacturing
- Manufacturing Operations
- Strong collaboration and influence skills
- Able to build strong relationships and plan/align with the team.
- Strong verbal/written communication.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to learn new software.
- Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects/tasks/systems.
