Solstice Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager (Chemicals) for our client located in Houston, Texas. This role is an in-office position on a 9/80 work schedule.
·Bachelors Degree in Engineering and 15+ years related experience required
·10+ years’ experience in capital project management, process design, project execution, and process operations required
·Base salary of $150k - $165k DOE plus 15% bonus opportunity and excellent benefits
This role leads the process design and project execution strategy for capital projects and for maintenance projects for the company. It also manages DCS engineers, Construction, Manufacturing Engineer, and Plant/Piping Designer staff.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that capital projects are executed on a prioritized basis with effective designs, to achieve on-time completion within their budget.
- Develop the design, project engineering, and construction management skills of all engineering team members.
- Manage the operation and strategic planning of our Honeywell PKS control system, including oversight of the Process Control Engineering
- Set process design standards and practices for the site - maintain existing practices and implement improvements to stay current with industry best-practices.
- Communicate with the Process Safety Manager on the priorities of shared engineering resources, and also on overlap decision-making concerning project engineering and all aspects of Process Safety.
- Communicate with the Capital Projects Manager on all aspects of capital spending planning, project scheduling and vendor practices, and purchasing/billing/documentation requirements.
Education and Experience:
·Bachelors Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and 15+ years of related experience including 5+ years of managerial experience required
·10+ years of experience in capital project management including process design, project execution, and process operations.
·Experience in chemical manufacturing preferred
·Texas Professional Engineering license preferred
·Experience with Honeywell Experion PKS system strongly preferred
