About the Job
In This Role, You Will:
- Provide hands-on support to resolve instrument and electrical issues as they occur at the plant.
- Inspect, calibrate, repair, install, and modify process controls, control valves, safety devices, analyzers, PLC’s, field instrumentation (pressure, level, and flow instrumentation), process monitoring equipment, low and high voltage motors and breakers, control circuits, and distributed control systems safely and effectively.
- Investigate equipment failures, determine root cause of the failure as needed, and recommend revisions to improve equipment performance, system reliability and capacity.
- Assist with the development of, implementation and periodic review of both preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned stop work and shutdowns while improving overall plant capabilities.
- Evaluate new methodologies, best practices, equipment, instrumentation, controls, and technology for application and use in the plant.
- Plan and execute both planned and unplanned shutdowns: provide technical and hands-on tactical maintenance support as required during shutdowns.
- Comply with all environmental, health, safety, and security related best practices, policies, and procedures, including process safety management (PSM).
- Diligently adhere to and fulfill all Responsible Care® requirements, demonstrate a steadfast commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical practices in all aspects of your position within the organization.
- Must have electrical and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to install, inspect, test, adjust and repair electronic, electro-mechanical, control circuits and systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Teams.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment drawings, safety procedures, including federal and state OSHA guidelines.
- Ability to demonstrate safety when using hand tools and hand power tools commonly used in maintenance work and related tasks.
- Understand the properties, behaviors, and hazards of the equipment with knowledge of machinery and equipment overhauls and refurbishment.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently and lead maintenance efforts the maintenance department.
- Associate’s degree in instrumentation or electrical related discipline preferred.
- Five years of maintenance experience related to instrumentation and electrical in a chemical manufacturing plant or related industrial environment.
- Experience with electrical controls, electrical distribution systems, and motor controls.
- Previous high voltage equipment maintenance experience with expertise in troubleshooting to resolve complex maintenance issues safely.
