Position Title: Chemist I
Location: Scarborough, Maine
Duration: 6+ Months
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Technical Manufacturing Chemist I to join our Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit in Scarborough, Maine. In this role, you will produce materials used in immunology-based chromatography and enzyme tests, while maintaining GMP/GLP compliance and supporting production schedules. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with cutting-edge diagnostic technologies.
Key Responsibilities:- Production Support: Maintain and follow the production schedule, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
- Process Improvement: Investigate problem areas and implement new procedures to drive continuous improvement.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and maintain quality systems, adhering to GMP/GLP standards.
- QC Testing: Conduct in-process QC testing of manufacturing materials, including qualifications, titrations, and quality inspections.
- Protocol Adherence: Develop and follow protocols aimed at product improvement.
- Bioreagent Manufacturing: Produce critical and non-critical bioreagents for product development and manufacturing processes, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively in a team to coordinate manufacturing efforts and ensure an adequate raw bioreagent supply to meet production demands.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in pipetting, spectrophotometry, HPLC, pH meters, gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, and ELISA assays.
- Software Skills: Experience using computer applications such as spreadsheets, databases, manufacturing systems, and word processing software.
- Ability to work both independently with moderate supervision and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
