The university seeks to fill one full-time tenure track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Chemistry, beginning August 2025. A successful candidate will teach the one-year Organic Chemistry sequence, General Organic & Biochemistry, develop upper-level courses in their area of expertise and oversee undergraduate research projects. Preference will be given to applicants with experience employing student-centered learning strategies. Additional responsibilities include preparing and assessing curriculum, recruiting, advising and retaining students, and service on university committees. The position requires a doctorate in chemistry or a related field. Candidates who are ABD will be considered.
This faculty position will join the Sciences and Mathematics department. The department has twelve full-time faculty members as well as two lab managers who offer a supportive environment for academic and professional development. Undergraduate major offerings include B.A. and B.S. degrees in Biology and Biochemistry, plus B.A. degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics. The department also offers minors in Nutrition and Food Science, and Environmental Studies. The department maintains GC-MS, HPLC, 90 MHz NMR, ATR/FT-IR, Fluorometer, among other research-quality instrumentation.
