About the Job
Sontag Enterprises is searching for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. As the CFO you will oversee and manage all financial aspects of three entities and report into the President of the organization. The entities comprise two non-profits and one for profit:
The Sontag Foundation – a national funder of brain cancer medical research with its subsidiary
The Sontag Innovation Fund – a venture philanthropy fund; the Foundation is a private 501c3 with over $200 million in assets
The Brain Tumor Network – a public non-profit national brain tumor patient support
organization managed under the direction of The Sontag Foundation
The Spring Bay Companies – a for profit family office and management company
The ideal candidate should be strong leader with demonstrated business acumen, possessing accounting, financial management and investment expertise, including knowledge of venture capital investing. This role involves strategic planning, financial reporting and investment analysis as well as support for all business operations ensuring financial integrity and growth of philanthropic and investment initiatives. The position is supported by a financial accounting staff as well as outsourced information technology, tax accounting and employee benefits services.

To be successful in the role you must possess:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; Masters degree preferred. CPA and/or CFA desirable
- 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including significant experience in investment management, accounting and treasury functions as well as vendor selection and management. Venture capital experience desirable.
- Proven experience in nonprofit financial management is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead financial strategy across multiple entities, including non-profit and/or for-profit ventures.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across a diverse range of stakeholders.
- A heart for the mission of the enterprise to help find new treatments and/or a cure for brain cancer
