The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the strategic direction and financial management of the company. This role requires a seasoned financial executive with a CPA designation and extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The CFO will oversee all financial operations, provide strategic guidance, and ensure the company's financial health aligns with our long-term goals.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's growth and operational objectives. Provide insights and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors regarding financial performance, investment opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Analyze financial performance and trends to drive informed decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage company cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to meet operational needs and support strategic investments. Optimize capital structure and funding strategies.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, including regulatory compliance, currency fluctuations, and investment risks. Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary liaison for financial matters with investors, analysts, and other stakeholders. Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and strategic plans to the Board of Directors and other key stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Oversee recruitment, development, and performance management of finance staff.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including those specific to the pharmaceutical industry. Manage audits and interactions with regulatory bodies.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA designation is required. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including regulatory requirements, R&D financials, and commercial operations.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a finance team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated experience in strategic financial planning and analysis. Ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
