Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
We are seeking a highly accomplished and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our client’s financial strategy and operations for one of San Antonio’s most well-known companies.
As the CFO, you will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial activities, strategic planning, and financial growth of the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of financial management, capital planning, and compliance, particularly within regulated environments.
CFO Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the company’s overall financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and treasury management.
- Develop and execute the Annual Operating Budget, Five-Year Financial Plan, and long-term Capital Plan, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
- Oversee treasury management functions, ensuring compliance with the Public Funds Investment Act and the company's Investment Policy.
- Develop and manage the long-range capital plan, including budgeting and forecasting, and create financial models aligned with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Capital Investment Grant program projects.
- Oversee grants administration, evaluate financing options, and manage the submission of Transportation Improvement Plans to the Metropolitan Planning Organization.
- Evaluate and analyze the company’s debt financing program, develop 30-year financial projections, identify financing needs, and provide strategic financial recommendations to support operational goals.
- Direct the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and coordinate all financial statements and audit reports.
- Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports and analysis to stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, financial advisors, audit firms, and project consultants.
- Establish and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and financial dashboards to track and report financial progress, trends, and variances to the executive team, including the CEO and other senior leaders.
- Ensure robust internal controls are in place and compliant with organizational goals, budget, quality standards, performance metrics, and regulatory requirements.
CFO Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A CPA, MACC, CFA, or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
- Extensive experience in progressively responsible roles in finance or accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior finance leadership role (Director, VP, or equivalent), with a track record of successfully managing diverse teams and cross-functional departments.
- Demonstrated experience in executing strategic financial initiatives, including stakeholder management and engagement at the executive level.
- Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies that drive growth, improve efficiency, and enhance financial performance.
