We are seeking a seasoned and skilled Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for our dynamic company in the Construction and agriculture industries. The CFO will play a key role in the company's strategic decision-making, providing leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting, and budgeting efforts of the company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization, in conjunction with the board of directors and the executive team.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide strategic management of the accounting and finance functions, ensuring that the company's financial systems are robust, compliant, and support both current activities and future growth.
2. Direct accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, recommending improvements to ensure the integrity of the company's financial information.
3. Manage and oversee the relationship with independent auditors, coordinating all audit activities.
4. Oversee the implementation and upgrades of financial systems, ensuring that they meet business needs with cost-effective technology solutions.
5. Manage relationships with investors and investment institutions, providing accurate and comprehensive financial information for decision-making.
6. Identify and manage business risks and insurance requirements, ensuring the company's assets are adequately protected.
7. Hire, train, and retain competent accounting and finance staff, providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance.
8. Prepare and present financial reports, ensuring that all financial information is accurately reflected and in compliance with regulations and standards.
9. Present board packages, providing clear and concise financial updates to the board of directors.
10. Conduct financial modeling, providing strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or professional accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the Accounting + Finance industry.
3. Proven experience in strategic planning and execution, including the assessment of financial performance to guide strategic business decisions.
4. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Experience in managing relationships with investors and investment institutions.
6. Exceptional leadership skills, with a proven track record in managing and developing high-performing teams.
7. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present financial information and complex financial concepts to stakeholders.
8. Experience working with private equity partners.
9. Strong analytical skills and experience in financial modeling.
10. High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance.
