About the Job
The Chief Human Resources Officer role will own the HR department and be responsible for growing and developing the HR team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who loves to develop new systems and processes and enjoys working in an entrepreneurial and growing environment. The HR leader must be equally comfortable addressing the human resources needs of employees in our restaurants and those of the corporate- level team. General responsibilities are carried out in the following functional areas: recruitment/workforce planning, employee relations/performance management, training and development and legal compliance. Culture plays an important role at OUR CLIENT’S, and as the Head of HR you will partner with both restaurant managers and corporate as you implement HR policies, procedures, programs and best practices. This position will own company training initiatives aimed at ensuring consistent quality and culture as we grow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and oversee human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel, assist in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, prepare and maintain employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
• Align Human Resources with business strategies and champion the necessary actions to support the guest- first culture we strive to achieve.
• Develop and provide training programs as part of employee onboarding and ongoing professional development.
• Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions, implementing selected solutions, coaching and counseling managers and employees.
• Develop and administer compensation programs, monitor performance evaluation programs and revise as necessary.
• As a business partner to operations, provide talent management leadership, including all recruitment and retention processes that support the business’ strategies for internal growth opportunities and build team depth to support our growth initiatives.
• Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compile reports from databases.
• Be the leader of safety and ensure compliance with all required FDA, OSHA and state requirements regarding food preparation facilities.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management on needed actions.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to human resources.
• Develop and implement OUR CLIENT’S’ HR business plan, establish accountability, identify solutions to resolve problems and foster a diverse workplace that empowers and enables all employees to contribute to the organization at their full potential.
• Handle grievances and participate in coaching and developing employees.
• Implement and monitor compliance with OUR CLIENT’S’ policies and standards.
• Establish short and long term goals, budgeting for HR expenses, and networking with outside peers and organizations, when needed, to achieve goals.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in business or Human Resources related field is required
• 10 years of experience
• Master’s Degree in HR is a plus
• Evidence of an ability to work in a cross functional and dynamic team
• Experience with a growing company a strong plus
• Experience in the food industry or multi-unit restaurant environment is a must
