Position Overview:
The Chief Medical Executive is a key member of the Hospital’s Senior Administrative Team with primary activities in medical staff relations, quality of care, patient safety, care continuity, patient experience, and market/system leadership. This role reports directly to the Division CMO and works closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Nurse Executive (CNE), local and Sutter System Quality Team and the Division Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to ensure the delivery of accessible patient-centered, high-quality, safe and equitable care. The Chief Medical Executive plays a vital role in care integration and aligning local initiatives with Division and System strategies.
Principal accountabilities of the role include but are not limited to:
• Patient Safety, Quality Improvement and Physician Relations
• Administrative role and duties
• Monitoring/Tracking/Trending
• Best Practice and Service Development,
• Relationship Formation and Maintenance

Required
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ Doctorate Degree (MD or DO)
+ CA Physician Licensure eligible
Desired
+ Master's business, medical management or public health
+ Board certification or Board eligible
Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
+ Previous experience in a leadership role in a medical staff structure, such as functioning as a Medical Executive Committee member. At least five years’ experience as department chair, committee chair, medical director or chief of staff.
+ Demonstrated team leadership and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong action planning skills, interpersonal skills and proven written and verbal communication skills are required. Flexibility, adaptability, motivation and creativity in dealing with change, timeliness and attention to detail are required as well.
+ Experience working in a highly matrixed health care environment.
+ Ability to read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.

Pay Range is $219.65 to $297.18 / hour
_The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package._
