Chief Medical Officer - Golden Valley Memorial Hospital

Job Description:

The Chief Medical Officer is responsible for providing administrative, service and quality oversight and assistance to providers.The CMO position will be 60% clinical and 40% administrative. The Chief Medical Officer will:

Ensure that providers follow healthcare regulations and that the facility adheres to prescribed safety standards
Recruit, train and mentor providers
Develop and implement strategies for providers so that they can reach short- and long-term goals
Serve as the clinical strategist for the Executive Team and representative of the medical profession to senior executives, the board of directors and community
Collaborate with the appropriate Executive Team Member to discuss actual, potential, and alleged risk management cases and potential system improvements to improve care at all medical sites
Meet with providers on an on-going and regular basis to discuss clinical concerns and opportunities for care improvement
Oversee the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with Joint Commission, DHSS, HIPAA and other regulations and standards
Assist in the development of Provider Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Initiatives
Participate in various committees
Assist in policy and procedure development

Education/Credentials:

M.D./ D.O. with board certification or eligible

Experience:

5-10 Years of Medical Experience
