About the Job
We are seeking an exceptional leader to serve as our Chief Scientist. This pivotal role will drive our company's AI strategy, oversee the development of our AI models and architecture, and lead a team of world-class researchers and engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong vision for the future of AI within user interfaces and applications, particularly in the realm of generative application development, and the ability to translate that vision into revolutionary products and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the company's overall AI strategy, aligning it with FutureAI’s business objectives
- Lead a diverse team of AI researchers and machine learning engineers
- Spearhead the development of FutureAI’s AI models and architecture, with a focus on enabling “FGS” a Fully Generative State for Developers that leverage Masterpiece, FutureAI’s Generative Application Architecture
- Collaborate with our Head of Engineering, product and design teams to implement the outcomes of your team's research
- Identify new opportunities for FutureAI to conquer for implementing our architecture and models
- Foster partnerships with academic institutions, research labs, and other companies to advance our AI research
- Ensure ethical AI development practices and address potential biases in our AI models and architecture
- Oversee FutureAI’s AI infrastructure and tooling needs of the organization
- Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for FutureAI’s AI research and development across the company
- Work closely with the executive team to align FutureAI’s AI research and development with overall company strategy and goals
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or Machine Learning
- 10+ years of experience in AI/ML, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven track record of leading successful AI research and development in a commercial setting
- Deep expertise in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision
- Strong understanding of open source generative AI models and their applications in a generative application architecture
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience managing and leading large, diverse teams of researchers and engineers
- Strong publication record in top-tier AI conferences or journals
- Demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between academic research and practical business applications
Preferred Skills
- Experience with large-scale AI systems and distributed computing
- Familiarity with AI ethics, fairness, and responsible AI development practices
- Knowledge of AI hardware acceleration technologies (e.g., GPUs, TPUs)
- Understanding of Google Cloud’s AI/ML offerings
- Experience with agile development methodologies in an AI context
- Strong network within the AI research community
