CHILD ADVOCACY & CRISIS SPECIALIST
Position Summary:
Children's Square is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Child Advocacy & Crisis Specialist for Crisis Stabilization Residential Services. In this role, you will serve as a vital advocate and support system for children and adolescents experiencing mental health crises.
Being part of Team Children’s, you will be cross trained to also work in our Youth Shelter and PMIC facilities.
**NEW SCHEDULE (4 DAYS PER WEEK) and NEW HOURS**
Front End: Sunday - Wednesday
Back End: Wednesday - Saturday
AM: 6:00am – 3:00pm
PM: 2:00pm – 11:00pm
Overnight: 10:00pm – 7:00am
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and supervision to residents in a Crisis Stabilization Residential setting
- Advocate for the needs and rights of children and adolescents, ensuring their voices are heard and respected
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management
- Implement behavior management techniques and de-escalation strategies as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Create a safe and supportive environment that promotes healing and recovery
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident interactions and progress
Qualifications:
- 5 Years Direct Care Experience OR Mental Health Technician Certificate OR Associates Degree in Mental Health, Psychology, or related field
- Previous experience working with children and adolescents highly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
