Position: Part Time - Child Advocacy & Crisis Specialist - Crisis Stabilization Residential Services

Location: Council Bluffs, IA

Starting Salary: $20.00/hour

Shifts:  Part-time works 1-2 of the 12.5 hour long shifts or a portion of the full shift

Part-time positions open (Day Shift 8:30 AM – 9:00 PM OR Night Shift 8:30 PM – 9:00 AM Available): Guaranteed every other weekend off and always at least two days off in a row.

Prefer to have someone who is open to working at flexible times - day, evenings, weekends.

Position Summary:

Children's Square is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Child Advocacy & Crisis Specialists for our newly established Crisis Stabilization Residential Services. In this role, you will serve as a vital advocate and support system for children and adolescents experiencing mental health crises.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and supervision to residents in a Crisis Stabilization Residential setting
• Advocate for the needs and rights of children and adolescents, ensuring their voices are heard and respected
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management
• Implement behavior management techniques and de-escalation strategies as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Create a safe and supportive environment that promotes healing and recovery
• Maintain accurate documentation of resident interactions and progress

Qualifications:

• 5 Years Direct Care Experience OR Mental Health Technician Certificate OR Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) OR Associates Degree in Mental Health, Psychology, or related field
• Previous experience working with children and adolescents preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
