POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide overall management and supervision of a grant funded (CCTR) Woodland Infant, Toddler and Preschool program. Supervises and organizes a safe, high quality YMCA program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage, coordinate and maintain an infant, toddler and preschool site.
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff. Conduct regular staff meetings and organize trainings.
- Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
- Maintain required child/staff ratio. May provide direct supervision of a group of children as necessary.
- Implement child care programs in accordance with YMCA Child Care Standards and Community Care Licensing.
- Maintain safety of site and children by implementing the health care plan, risk management and emergency procedures in conformity with YMCA and Community Care Licensing policies.
- Maintain accurate records according to YMCA and Community Care Licensing standards, including attendance records, USDA forms, immunization records, registrations and sign-in/sign-out records.
- Demonstrate the "Character Counts" values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility in all your dealings with members, guests, volunteers and staff.
- Coordinate and maintain positive public relations and clear communications with parents, staff, volunteers, and school personnel. Coordinate schedule with the YMCA and school calendar.
- Prepare and publish a monthly parent newsletter.
- Ensure that supplies are maintained and purchased within the operating budget.
- Market and promote the program and ensure full capacity.
- Maintain the daily cleanliness and safety of the site.
- Works with Sac Central Summer at the Y Director as a partnership of programs.
- Create new program opportunities.
- Operate programs within budget and keep up to date with parent payments and aging reports.
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 21 years of age or older
- 24 or more college quarter credits in early childhood/child development, or possesses an equivalent educational background, or has a child development certificate
- 3 units in Administrative course.
- Bachelor’s degree or A.A. in education, early childhood education, child development, or related field (preferred) or five year’s experience in related field.
- Two or more years of site supervision experience. (preferred)
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with diverse populations
- 4 years of work experience in a licensed child care center or program.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- TB clearance, pre-employment physical examination
- Department of Justice, FBI clearance, and request for Child Abuse Index
- CPR/First Aid within time requested by Program Director
- Copies of all transcripts and proof of work experience will be required
