Child Life Specialist - Cottage Health

The Child Life Specialist renders professional care as a Child Development/Child Life Specialist in accordance with guidelines provided by the Child Life Council and Cottage Health System. Coordinates a plan of care with health care teams, patient and family. Utilizes skills and knowledge in child development to serve as a resource person for patients, family and staff. Coordinates age/developmentally appropriate play for patients, provides preadmission/preprocedural teachings.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

Minimum: Advanced degree (Master's or higher) in Child Development or other related field (such as Social Work)

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Minimum: Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential is required.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum: NA

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum: Experience in public speaking and self-presentation.

Requires: Advanced degree (Master's or higher) in child development or related field and experience in public speaking.
