The Child Life Specialist will be responsible for:
40 hours a week
- Participating in therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs, and facilitating adjustment to health care experiences for patients
- Serving as member of multidisciplinary team.
- Providing coping support for patients and families when faced with trauma/grief
- Delegating work assignments to volunteers and participates in clinical training of student interns.
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life.
- 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist.
- General skills to resolve problems requiring the use of child development theory, professional child life principles, and experienced‐based knowledge.
- Well-developed writing skills, and excellent communication skills including conflict resolution to effectively work as a team member.
- Child Life Certification required within 1 year of hire
