About the Job
Job Summary
The Victory Childcare Assistant Director will manage daily operations and establish and sustain
a positive learning environment for children by overseeing the coordination of education
programs, ensuring that facilities are maintained, manage and support the childcare staff at
Merritt Island; all while complying with local, state and federal regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Work with HR department and interview, hire, and train new staff, verifying they meet
all policies and legal requirements.
• Supervise and support staff in addition to providing and promoting professional
development opportunities
• Manage and coordinate curricula, policies and standards with staff that complies with
local, state and federal requirements
• Communicate and meet with staff regarding student progress
• Assist staff in communicating with parents and children
• Maintain instructional excellence in a positive and stimulating environment for children
• Complete Continuing Education Units and Training to remain up to date on daycare
standards, procedures, and licensure.
• Use Victory management systems to keep track of supplies and food.
• Ensure that facilities are safe, maintained and cleaned according to state laws and
regulations
• Work closely, communicate often and meet regularly with Victory's Leadership Team
• Establish a workplace culture of professionalism
• Perform other incidental tasks or services consistent with the job goal of this position
• Provide outstanding customer service and use positive interpersonal communication
skills
Qualifications
• Must have Florida Director's Credential
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, Associates degree required
• Must have current CPR & First Aid certification
• Must have previous experience in an Early Childhood Educational setting
• Meet minimum requirements for State of Florida licensure, training, and background
screening
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws governing childcare
• Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
• Friendly and easily approachable
• Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all time
• Manage facility
• Oversee staff
• Be able to navigate through Brightwheel
• Become familiar with inputting information into the Brightwheel system
• Become familiar with the FunnyDaffer curriculum
• Communicate effectively with administrative team, staff, and parents.
Salary is competitive and will commensurate with experience.
