Job Summary
The Center for Healthcare Outcomes and Policy and Center for Surgical Training and Research are seeking a Program Manager to help manage administrative functions for our large research portfolios. As the Program Manager, this individual will play a pivotal role in contributing to the progress of projects and driving the strategic vision of the research Centers, working closely with Center directors and the Senior Research Supervisor to ensure successful implementation of initiatives, overall operations and administrative management. Your leadership and operational experience in health services research will be essential in supporting our diverse research projects and initiatives, fostering collaboration across various domains.

Responsibilities*
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Program Management: oversee and curate two weekly seminars for fellows and faculty and development of other learning opportunities for the community as needed. Support the needs of Dr. Gurjit Sandhu, and execute all administrative functions related to the Center for Surgical Training and Research (CSTAR). In addition, support the needs of Dr. Andrew Ibrahim, and execute administrative leadership functions for the Center for Healthcare Outcomes and Policy (CHOP).
+ Research: oversee research project management, annual reporting and proposal development for Dr. Andrew Ibrahim, and add hoc for the faculty of CHOP and CSTAR.
+ Communication: design materials related to dissemination of research (e.g. visual abstracts), manage subscription to email lists for the center, manage and update website content, curriculum materials and all major communication. Independently manage social media accounts, including Twitter and LinkedIn.
+ Personnel: assist hiring teams, staff time approvals, and onboarding. Coordinate with the department and grants administrators on a regular basis. Manage vaccination compliance, medical leave, and other administrative staff functions.
+ Financial oversight: In conjunction with the Senior Research Supervisor, develop and monitor operating budgets for the research center. In addition, monitor the budgets of sponsored funds, ensuring that funds are being spent according to sponsor-approved budgets and in a timely manner, coordinating with grants administrators as necessary on purchases, effort allocations, etc. Manage all procurement functions, including purchase orders, reimbursements, and expense reporting.
+ Equipment: coordinate hardware and software purchases through the appropriate purchasing channels to meet project needs, coordinate deployment of new supplies.
+ Events: coordinate small and large scale events as they arise, including the management of event budgets, coordination with vendors and procurement, facilities, and executing the vision of faculty leads.
+ Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
+ Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Experience managing the operations of a research center
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite
+ Experience with graphic design (e.g. Adobe Express, Canva, etc.)
+ Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
+ Strong organizational, communication (written and oral), and time-management skills, project management skills and software (e.g. Slack, Google Suite, Teams etc).
+ Experience with Concur and University reimbursement and purchasing policies
+ Must be able to handle multiple competing deadlines
Desired Qualifications*
+ Familiarity with M-Reports and/or M-Pathways Financial & Physical Resources System
+ Experience in health policy and/or health services research

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. The successful candidate will have experience with working with and supporting faculty and collaborative groups. Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are all highly desired attributes. Individuals with experience planning and coordinate events, and health services research will be preferred.

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
