The Prince George's County Department of Family Services is seeking qualified applicants to fill a CINS Clinician/Therapist (Counselor 3G) position, grade G24 in the Children, Youth, and Families Division.
About the Position:
This is responsible professional lead and/or supervisory work providing services and assistance to client populations with problems in a range of areas (e.g., substance abuse, emotional, behavioral, or related problems). Responsibilities include: Performs behavioral health assessments, individual and/or family therapy, facilitate parenting and prevention groups, and administrative responsibilities related to COMAR clinical reporting guidelines in the completion of daily activities of the Children, Youth, and Families Division. Incumbents will work in diverse community settings designed to provide a variety of counseling, rehabilitation, and support services. Duties vary greatly, depending on the counseling specialty, which is determined by the setting in which the incumbent will work and the population they serve. Work is performed in accordance with established County, state, Federal policies, procedures, and regulations. Work performance is evaluated in terms of accuracy, timeliness and quantity of production.

The department is responsible for providing assistance to some of the County’s most vulnerable citizens – children, families, victims of domestic violence, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, veterans, and seniors. The department is comprised of three divisions that serve the aging and disabled, victims of domestic violence, as well as children, youth and families in need of support and resources.
