Civil Construction Superintendent
Our client is a premier provider of earth moving and excavation services, dedicated to executing high-quality projects on time and within budget. They are currently seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to oversee and manage construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Supervision: Oversee daily operations on excavation and earth-moving projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project specifications.
- Team Management: Lead and supervise a team of operators, laborers, and subcontractors, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Equipment Management: Coordinate the use and maintenance of heavy machinery and equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, graders, and trucks.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to review project plans, schedules, and specifications, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety procedures and regulations on-site, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to minimize risks and accidents.
- Schedule Management: Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and addressing any delays or issues that may arise.
- Quality Control: Monitor work quality and ensure that excavation and earth-moving activities meet required standards and specifications.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any operational issues or challenges that arise on-site, making decisions to keep projects on track.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to project managers and senior management on project progress, issues, and performance.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or training in construction management or heavy equipment operation preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in earth moving and excavation operations, with a proven track record of supervising construction projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and managing heavy machinery, with a strong understanding of excavation techniques and earth-moving practices.
- Leadership: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction and excavation.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Proven problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing operational challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA certification, Heavy Equipment Operator Certification) are advantageous.
- Experience with Technology: Familiarity with construction management software and GPS equipment for earth-moving projects.
