Civil Construction Superintendent
Our client is a leading construction company specializing in civil engineering projects, including highways, bridges, tunnels, and large-scale infrastructure developments. The Civil Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves managing a team of construction workers, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and liaising with project managers and engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site activities related to civil construction projects, including earthworks, concrete works, and infrastructure installations.
- Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and construction schedules.
- Manage and direct the work of site personnel and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety protocols.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues that arise during construction.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, including labor, equipment, and material usage.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of construction materials and equipment.
- Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety meetings and training sessions.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules, ensuring effective cost control and resource management.
- Address any changes or modifications to the project scope, ensuring appropriate documentation and approvals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in construction management software and other relevant tools.
- Valid driver s license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed primarily on construction sites, with exposure to various weather conditions and potential hazards.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, and working at heights, as well as lifting and carrying materials and equipment.
