Job Title: Civil Design Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Civil Design Engineer to join our team. This role is 100% focused on design, developing site/civil engineering plans and specifications for various projects including those for local developers, educational institutions, and residential & multi-family developments.
Responsibilities
+ Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for projects.
+ Conduct zoning and ordinance reviews.
+ Perform site design tasks including layout, grading, soil erosion, and storm water management.
+ Design storm water management systems compliant with local and state regulations.
+ Handle the permitting and approval process at local, county, and state levels.
+ Manage multiple projects throughout the approval process.
+ Interact with clients and reviewing engineers to meet their requests.
+ Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and HydroCAD for project design.
+ Perform slope analysis, profile development, road corridor setup, terrain setup, pipe network creation, and grading in AutoCAD.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Civil 3D
+ Experience in storm water management and drainage design
+ Site development expertise
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD
+ Experience with HydroCAD and Microsoft Office
+ Excellent communication and written skills
+ Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and work independently
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ BS in Civil Engineering
+ 5-10 years of experience in land development/site design
+ Professional interactions with clients, reviewing agencies, and co-workers
+ Valid Driver’s License and authorized to work in the USA
Work Environment
The position is based in our office in Warren, working with a small, collaborative land development team. The role requires 40-45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a strong emphasis on work-life balance. Employees have the opportunity to work directly under the management of a licensed PE, shadowing at zoning board meetings and proposal meetings with townships. The team is flexible with schedules, acknowledging the importance of family and personal matters.
