Job Description

Bellevue, WA
In this position, you will be joining teams locally and across the West Coast, working on a portfolio of conveyance projects for water, water reuse, and wastewater with our Water Services Group. Your tasks could include:
Preparing basic to highly complex engineering designs involving conveyance systems, hydraulics and hydrology calculations, water distribution systems, collection systems, site layout development, site grading and drainage, storage tanks and impoundments, foundation designs, and stormwater infrastructure.
Providing construction support services, including submittal and RFI reviews, design change reviews, site visits, and construction management services.
Conducting master planning, research, modeling, and conceptual design.
Reviewing draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and requirements.
Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications. Updates design requirements as necessary.
Providing technical guidance and training to more junior staff, reviewing the work of more junior staff.
This role requires strong communication and teamwork with staff in our local and regional offices and various engineering disciplines in other offices. In addition, this employee would have an opportunity to represent CDM Smith at conferences and provide technical support on business development opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer).
5 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
