About the Job
L.J. Gonzer Associates is looking for individuals to join our pool of qualified candidates for potential assignment as a Civil Engineer-Assistant Project Manager.
- Monitor construction field work being performed by the contractor ensuring compliance with contract drawings and specifications, approved shop drawings, approved qualify procedures, and approved safety procedures.
- Lead and oversee construction projects, including but not limited to: Approving contracts, shop drawings, and safety procedures.
- Prepare and submit necessary field reports that documents daily activities that take place on site.
- Utilize web-based programs such as ASITE, ProjectWise document management protocols to maintain all project submittals and correspondence.
- Review and share correspondence with the appropriate stakeholders including but not limited to designers, sponsor groups, and operating departments.
- Develop and maintain project budgets.
- Perform site inspections.
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, business administration, or a related field.
- Two years of experience performing project management tasks with specific focus on civil/structural engineering projects.
- OSHA-30 Certification must be obtained prior to starting the position.
- 8-hour Lead Awareness Course must be completed prior to starting the position.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Computer applications related to design and construction management, such as MicroStation and Computer Aided Design Drafting (CADD), Microsoft Office 365, ASITE, ProjectWise.
- Demonstrated familiarity of Civil/Structural Engineering standards/codes and practices.
- Familiarity with rail/transit operations and practices, and mass transit facilities, preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
