## Overview
The Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT) Asset Management Bureau is
seeking a Civil Engineer to support our mission of providing quality,
data-driven recommendations to guide actions and investments in the
highway network.
We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our team. This
individual will work closely with our team leaders to provide background
information and recommendations that will impact important decisions
across Vermont's highway network. This is an office-based position with
sporadic opportunities for fieldwork. The duties associated with this
position will allow the selected candidate to be engaged in many aspects
of the early phases and decision-making processes used to determine
where money is invested in the highway network. This is a fantastic

It is anticipated that the individual selected for the position will be
available to work 40 hours per week. The level at which the applicant
will be hired will depend on the applicant's skill level in alignment
with our agency
## Environmental Factors
Duties are generally performed in both office and field settings for
which private means of transportation must be available. Fieldwork may
involve exposure to hazardous materials, traffic hazards and,
construction sites during all weather conditions and may involve
traversing rough terrain and bodies of water. Some work outside of
regular working hours, including attendance at public meetings, may be
required. Strong differences of opinion may be encountered on a regular
basis.
