About the Job
Vaco is seeking a talented individual to join our progressive and successful team in the position of Civil Design Engineer
This position is location in Indianapolis, IN and not remote
Skill sets must include performance and /or direction of specific engineering work on diverse civil site design projects across market segments and with varying degrees of complexity
Specific engineering work may include but is not limited to the following: client communication, construction document (plan and specifications) and technical reports preparation and/or oversight; engineering analyses, opinions of probable costs, and supporting calculations; independently evaluate, select and recommend and /or perform design solutions, procedures, criteria, and quality control/quality assurance activities in order to deliver a quality design product.
Responsibilities:
Design, plan, and oversee the construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, and buildings.
Conduct site investigations and assessments to determine project feasibility.
Prepare budgets, schedules, and project plans.
Ensure compliance with government regulations and safety standards.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to keep projects on track.
Test materials and environmental impact to ensure sustainability.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
Professional engineering license (PE)
Relevant work experience in civil engineering or construction.
Skills:
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficiency in civil engineering software and tools.
Knowledge of construction methods and materials.
Ability to analyze data and solve complex problems.

the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
licensure and certification requirements;
office location and other geographic considerations;
other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure
The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
