Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking a talented and highly motivated Engineering Intern to join the Transportation team in the Los Angeles, CA office. Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning. This position is expected to begin in July 2025. **The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:** + Prepare structural and civil design calculations and drawings for Bridges, Culverts, Roadways, and Retaining walls. + Design for municipal infrastructure using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation. + Prepare documentation for design projects and reports. + Undertake quality control procedures. + Assures that engineering-related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and follow-up to ensure timeliness of resolution efforts. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements** + Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in **civil engineering focusing on transportation** and must have completed at least **two years of study** . Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience or knowledge of Transportation projects. + Knowledge and experience using CADD and industry-standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation). + Ability to balance various project and company responsibilities and deadlines, while maintaining professionalism and quality. + Adaptable and flexible, showing a willingness and ability to take on new projects or areas with or without supervision, as required. + Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proficiently communicate both internally and externally to build collaborative relationships. **Additional Information** + Relocation is not available for this position. + Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available for this position now or in the future. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
