Verdantas is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern for the Summer of 2025. This position will be located at the Akron, Ohio office.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in preparing engineering-related calculations, design drawings, specifications, and visual aids, cost estimating, reaching out to manufacturers, attending client meetings.
- Assisting with fieldwork (e.g., site inspections, surveys, GPS mapping, C-factor testing, HPR testing)
- Researching, collecting, and entering data, and applying technical principles to assist in interpreting and analyzing data
- Reviewing submittals and technical documents to assess compliance with project requirements and preparing draft documents, along with creating figures and modifying shapefiles
- Preparing CAD/CIVIL 3D and GIS drawings and documents, able to use sheet
- Annual update of our cost-estimating database and utilization of the bid tab program
- Prepare and update design and calculation templates within Excel and Microsoft Word
- Miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel, Preferred knowledge of hydraulics or site/civil design.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with a variety of staff in office and virtually across offices
- Must be able to write effectively and articulate outcomes to clients and team members
- The position may include travel with one's car or traveling with another staff member in their car
- Previous engineering Co-Op or Internship experience a plus
