This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Sr. Roadway Engineer for our St. Louis, Missouri office. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive range of design experience including highway/roadway, drainage systems, roadway geometry, safety and civil site design related to transportation infrastructure projects. The St. Louis team supports clients from around the state on a wide variety of projects ranging from greenways to interchanges, transit, aviation and more. This position is an excellent opportunity to continue to enhance design and production skills and build relationships within WSP as well as with many clients around the region.
Provides technical assistance and guidance for concept development, cost estimating, planning, permitting, design development, and construction of infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector. Tasks may include assisting with the research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of roads, greenways, ports, transit, and aviation projects.
Your Impact
· Lead design for segments of projects from concept to final design.
· Work collaboratively with design engineers in a multidisciplinary team environment.
· Lead for analysis, plans production and other technical activities for various state and local government agencies and private clients.
· Develop design criteria and apply to projects.
· Guide design teams to achieve overall project objectives.
· Coordinating with other design disciplines in Missouri and throughout the Midwest.
· Collaborate with other disciplines including traffic, bridge and facilities engineers and architects.
· Preparing plans, specifications, estimates, and bid packages.
· Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
· 5+ years of experience in civil design and plan production for transportation and infrastructure projects.
· Fundamentals of Engineering (FE).
· Understanding of and familiarity with AASHTO, MoDOT, PROWAG, and NACTO Design Guidelines and Standards.
· Ability to recognize a project’s critical path and continually plan for project success.
· Proficiency in software design packages such as MicroStation, Open Roads Designer (ORD), Civil 3D and similar design software programs.
· Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
· Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Missouri.
· Experience with MoDOT, Metro and City of St. Louis projects.
· Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
