We have partnered with an engineering design and consulting firm in the Raleigh, NC area to provide them with a Civil Engineering Department Manager. Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Civil Engineering Department Manager:

#1. Professional Engineer (PE)

#2. At least 8yrs of Design and Project Management experience

#3. No more than 3 jobs in the last 10yrs.

Requirements of the Civil Engineering Department Manager:

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required, with preference for North Carolina and South Carolina licensure.
• At least 8 years of experience in engineering design and project management.
• Proven ability to excel in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment with tight deadlines and the flexibility to manage shifting project priorities and multiple client demands.
• Extensive experience in land development, including site planning, grading design, and preparation of construction documents.
• Capability to coordinate projects and tasks with other department managers, engineers, surveyors, and planners.
• Experience in mentoring project managers and design staff.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software is preferred; however, the role focuses on understanding software rather than performing design tasks.
• Strong business development and financial management skills.
• Experience with codes, standards, and technical specifications from authorities having jurisdiction.
• Proficiency in developing and designing construction details.
• Experience with implementing a formal QA/QC program.
• Strong collaboration skills and experience presenting to boards, commissions, or councils is advantageous.
• Candidate must pass a drug screening, background check, and meet the company's driving record (MVR) standards.
