About the role, Your Impact
Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a paid engineering internship in our Orlando, FL office. This on-the-job experience will support the firm’s water, wastewater and stormwater groups with the design and construction of a variety of facilities and offer the opportunity to work directly with our firm clients. A variety of responsibilities and duties will provide a well-rounded background in engineering.
What your day-to-day will look like, what you will learn on the job
- Assisting senior engineers with the evaluation, study and design of potable water and wastewater pipelines and pumping stations.
- Work with a variety of clients including municipal, county, and FDOT to complete roadway, stormwater, underground utility, and infrastructure improvements.
- Field work, studies and design of water and wastewater system rehabilitation.
- Water and wastewater systems hydraulic modeling computation and analysis.
- Work independently on a variety of tasks including CAD, Drainage Design, Quantity Computation, Traffic Analysis, and Data Collection
Education Requirement
- Ongoing pursuit of a 4-year degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in environmental engineering.
Must-haves, what you will bring
- Maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
- Available to start May 2025 and work to mid-August 2025.
- Ability to travel throughout Palm Beach County and Broward County areas (own transportation).
- Ability to work in a team environment on a variety of projects.
- Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
Compensation The hourly pay for this role is $22.00. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
