Here’s how you’ll make an impact on the team:
- Supervise the design work of technicians supporting assigned projects (no direct supervisory responsibilities).
- Plan, design, and oversee engineering projects such as streets, roads, residential and commercial developments, municipal projects, institutional and industrial facilities, drainage projects, airports, and channels.
- Follow the Company Project Management Plan and ensure compliance from all team members on assigned projects.
- Analyze various reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photos to understand soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geological data for project planning and design.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create engineering and design documents.
- Calculate project costs, assess feasibility, and prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and project designs.
- Meet with clients regularly to coordinate changes, inform them of additional requirements, gather input, address questions, and resolve issues.
- Coordinate project activities with officials, support staff, subcontractors, utilities, and other relevant entities.
- Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure adherence to engineering plans, specifications, and construction standards.
- Manage project budgets to ensure projects stay on track and align with company goals and objectives.
- Review project progress and budgets periodically with the Chief Operating Officer or Chief Financial Officer.
- Attend meetings such as City Council, Planning Commission, and inspection meetings to exchange information on projects and local requirements.
- Stay updated on new techniques, materials, codes, regulations, and software through seminars, briefings, and other professional development forums, and maintain professional certification.
- Make marketing calls to existing and potential customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BS) from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 5 to 8 years of related experience or training.
- Certified Professional Engineer (PE) with licensure in Arkansas, and the ability to obtain licenses in other states as needed.
- Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Excellent communication skills for responding to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
- Proficient in writing speeches and publication articles in a prescribed style and format.
- Effective presentation skills for top management, public groups, and boards of directors.
- Strong mathematical skills, including algebraic functions, geometry, trigonometry, and practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Proven problem-solving abilities, including data collection, fact establishment, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret complex technical instructions and handle both abstract and concrete variables.
- Knowledgeable in using Database, Design, Internet, Project Management, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
$130,000 - $180,000 annually with Rapid Advancement Track for right candidate. Possible VP
